The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) SummerSlam 2021 was held at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. While the biggest attraction of the pay-per-view event was the clash between Roman Reigns and John Cena for the Universal Championship, the event as a whole was a blockbuster, to say the least. The event not only saw former WWE champion Brock Lesnar making a shock return but also as many as three championships changing hands. The event that featured some of the biggest stars of the ring, showcased ten blockbuster matches.

Here is how the event turned out:

John Cena vs. Roman Reigns

The fight between the two behemoths saw John Cena administer not one, not two but three Attitude Adjustments on Roman Reigns – one of them was on the announce table. However, the Head of the Table was able to kick out of the pinfall. The 16-time WWE champion tried every book in the trick – from AA to Kenta Kobashi leg drop to Five Knuckle Shuffle to the STF. However, none of it was able to pin down Reigns.

It was the current WWE Universal champion who reigned supreme and won the matchup with a powerful Superman Punch that was followed by a deadly spear.

This was not it. As soon as the match ended, Brock Lesnar made his way out to the ring and Paul Heyman, Reigns’ manager, cowered in fear as both of the superstars engaged in a stare-off. While Reigns backed off and Lesnar stood tall, the crowd went berserk.

Bobby Lashley vs. Goldberg

This was touted to be one of the biggest matches of the SummerSlam 2021. The two giants of the game fought with every iota of energy they had. At no point did Lashley seem to faze the big Goldberg. However, Montel Vontavious Porter cheap shot the challenger. Lashley followed it up with a chop block, leaving Goldberg injured.

To inflict more pain, Lashley carried Goldberg and rammed him into the ringpost and repeats the acts till Goldberg’s knee gave out and referee Chad Patton stopped the match.

While Lashley retained his championship by referee stoppage, he attacked Goldberg and his son Gage. What happens next, should be interesting.
