After considering the popular opinion on whether former President Donald Trump should be reinstated on Twitter, Elon Musk started a poll on Sunday asking netizens’ opinion on whether he should step down as the head of Twitter.
“Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll,” he asked over a poll. Soon after, the phrase, “Vote Yes” started trending on the platform with an overwhelming number of users urging the public to click on the “yes” option in the poll.
“This is more important than any US election ever held or any election ever in all of history you have to vote ‘yes,'” one of them tweeted, while another wrote, “I strictly only date people who vote yes on this poll.” One more said, “It is your solemn duty to vote ‘yes’ in this poll because it would easily be one of the funniest things to ever happen on here.”
Another user stated, “This would be so funny, vote yes and we could pull off one of the most hilarious events in history.” One more wrote, “EVERYBODY, LEND ME YOUR ENERGY! VOTE YES.” another one suspected that there was some devious plan behind Musk’s poll.
“I suspect he’ll ban accounts that vote yes, which is why I’m voting yes. I’ll die a hero and be free,” the user commented, while another said, “He’s deploying his paid bot army to cook the results. vote “yes” to show him what flesh-and-blood people actually think.”
Last month Musk reinstated Trump after allowing his Twitter followers and others to vote on whether to reinstate the former president. Nearly 52% of votes – a narrow majority of 15 million voters – were in favor of Trump’s return.
“The people have spoken,” Musk tweeted at the time. “Trump will be reinstated.”
