YouTuber Kai Cenat was seen in a video helping a hyperventilating fan breathe as his Union Square Park giveaway descended into chaos on Friday, resulting in his arrest for inciting riot.

The video in question has gone viral on social, showing Cenat helping a fan who was struggling to breathe upon meeting the YouTuber. Cenat is one of the most popular streamers on Twitch and boasts 5.5. million followers on Instagram.

“I just wanted to see you!” a female was seen crying out as she sat down on the pavement as Cenat did his best to calm her down, sitting down along with her ad holding her hands. “I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe, Kai!” she continued in between tears.

Cenat kept on repeating “It’s ok” to the fan as he assured her repeatedly. He also tried to help her breathe by repeatedly practicing breathing exercises with her.

The video of Cenat being concerned for his fan stood in contrast with one which showed him being arrested and taken away by the police in the middle of the giveaway that descended in to chaos. Cenat has been charged with inciting a riot and unlawful assembly after the NYPD arrested 65 people from the scene of the giveaway, 30 of whom where juveniles. He was freed from police custody just hours after being taken into custody.

“People were suffering out here, alot of young people got hurt,” Maddrey added. “We’re not against young people having a good time… but it can’t be to this level.”

Several videos were circulated which showed thousands of people gathered, with some fighting and others throwing fire extinguishers at each other in downtown Manhattan. One of the videos showed Cenat being lifted over a fence and out of the crowd before being put in a police vehicle.
