Car manufacturing giant Tesla is all set to display its advancements on the crossroads of artificial intelligence and autonomous driving on Thursday evening at the company’s ‘AI Day’.
The event, which is being held at California’s Palo Alto at the tech company’s headquarters, is expected to commence at 8 pm ET, and will also be up for broadcasting for viewers.
Even though not many details about the ‘artificial intelligence’ powered event have been given out by the company, according to media reports from Verge, Tesla boss Elon Musk may be giving a keynote speech to mark the day.
Other than that, test rides of Tesla‘s Model S Plaid are expected to be given to attendees in addition to software demonstrations by the tech teams.
The Verge also reported that the “sole goal” of the event is to lure experts in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence to come work at Tesla, according to tweets shared by Musk.
AI Day, which seems to be a sequel to the company’s Autonomy Day first hosted in 2019, is likely to pick up and build on themes like silicon computer chips and advanced driver assistance features.
Thursday’s event is the second public gathering being hosted by the company this year, which is known to organise such occasions twice every year. Earlier this year in June, Tesla used the first event to unveil the ‘Model S Plaid’, which has garnered positive reactions from the public so far.
Last year, Tesla held its first Battery Day event, at which it discussed plans to drive down the cost of battery development with the goal of producing a $25,000 electric car, according to reports from Verge.
The event comes after Tesla, the company known to push for autonomous driving tech, was in the middle of series of accidents where authorities said the company’s technology played a role.
