The cracker of an opening match between FC Goa and Bengaluru
FC in Fatorda on Sunday ended in a 2-2 draw, as both teams pressed hard for
victory in the third match of Indian Super League 2020.

With Cleiton Silva’s goal on the 27th-minute putting
Bengaluru forward, as the Brazilian shifted the ball past Goa keeper Mohammad Nawaz
following a Kabra throw amongst a chaotic defensive jungle, the second half saw
Juanan double the lead by smacking a volley inside the Gaurs’ net in the 57th
minute.

However, with barely half an hour to go, the team with the
most goals against their name last season turned the match around, as Igor Angulo,
the new striker for the season, proved his class with a brace.

In the 65th minute, the first goal by Angulo saw
him place the ball tactfully on the bottom corner past Gurpreet Singh, with a
delicate touch from his left foot.  The
second marked the striker’s goal-getting instinct, as opening up his chest, he
guided a powerful cross inside the net.

The post-match interview, however, captured the dissatisfaction
of the new FC Goa-star, as he said he was “happy to score two goals. But I hope I can help
my team win the next game with my goals. Two good passes from my teammates. We
know they (Bengaluru FC) are a good team from set-pieces and they proved that
today,” the Spanish-forward further said.
