Marking the first
anniversary of Iran’s top general Qasem Soleimani’s assassination by the US,
country’s Judiciary Chief, Ebrahim Raisi, on Friday, warned that his killers
will ‘not be safe on Earth’, reported news agency AFP.

Raisi made the
remarks insinuating at US President Donald Trump, who ordered the air-strike that killed the
Iranian general.

“Do not
presume that someone, as the president of America, who appeared as a murderer
or ordered a murder, maybe immune from justice being carried out. Never,”
Judicial Chief said while speaking at an event in Tehran to pay tribute to
Soleimani.

“They will
witness a severe revenge. What has come so far has only been glimpses.” he added.

The event was also
attended by Iranian officials, and speakers included representatives from
allied regional countries and forces, namely Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen.

Similar statements were made by top Iranian
authorities, including supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who had previously
said that all those involved in general’s killing would face retribution.

Meanwhile, a separate event
is expected to be held in the coming days in Kerman, Soleimani’s hometown where
he was buried.

Qasem Soleimani was
killed in a drone strike by the US at Baghdad airport on January 3, sparking fresh tensions between decades-old arch enemies the United States and Iran.

Soleimani headed
the Quds force, the foreign operations arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard
Corps.
