Bollywood
actor Sonu Sood has been in news during the ongoing pandemic for helping
millions of migrant workers and other daily wager reach home.  

That’s not
all, the actor distributed smartphones to students of Government Senior
Secondary School at Morni’s Koti village to help them attend online classes.

Now, the ‘Dabangg’
actor has announced that he will be offering scholarships to the underprivileged
students who wish to pursue higher education.

He said
financial challenges should not come in the way of students achieving their
goals. Sharing the news on his Twitter handle, Sonu wrote, “Hindustaan Badhega
Tabhi, Jab Padhenge Sabhi! Launching full scholarships for students for higher
education. I believe financial challenges should not stop any one from reaching
their goals. Send in ur entries at [email protected] (in next 10 days)
& I will reach out to u.”

In another
tweet, Sonu wrote in Hindi, “Our capability and our hard work will decide our
future. It does not have anything to do with our financial situation or our
background. My attempt in this direction — scholarship for education after
school. So that you move forward in life and contribute to the nation’s
development.”

Earlier, he helped a family in Himachal Pradesh
who had to sell their cow, their only source of income, to buy a smartphone for
their children’s online classes.

The actor also requested the government to postpone the NEET, JEE examinations due to the coronavirus pandemic. He tweeted, “It’s my request to the government of India, to postpone the Neet/JEE exams in the current situation of the country! In the given COVID19 situation, we should care utmost & not risk the lives of students!”
