Actor Anthony Mackie is all set to appear in Marvel Studios ‘Captain America 4’, US media reported on Thursday. This comes after The Falcon (Mackie) was given the title of Captain America at the end of the series ‘Falcon and The Winter Soldier’.

In the series, Mackie plays the role of Sam Wilson, who is also known as ‘The Falcon’. According to a report in Deadline, Mackie inked a deal to star in ‘Captain America 4‘. The film will witness Wilson wield Captain America’s shield on the big screen for the first time.

According to reports, Malcolm Spellman is writing the script with Dalan Musson, who worked with him on “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.

As of now, the latest installment of the ‘Captain America’ movie does not have a director attached to it. Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige will produce the superhero movie.

However, it is still not clear if Captain America 4 will feature Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) or known as Winter Soldier.

In their spin-off series ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’, the duo of Wilson and Barnes teamed up to fight the anarchist group Flag-Smashers.

The first time Mackie played the role of Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’. He played the role of a veteran who ran a self-help group for soldiers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

It was this movie, where he joined hands with Captain America to defeat Hydra that had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D.

In the previous three films, actor Chris Evans played the role of ‘Captain America’ as he aced the character of Steve Rogers. The previous three installments were named “Captain America: The First Avenger” (2011), “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” (2014) and “Captain America: Civil War” (2016).

The character of Steve Rogers also appeared in all the “Avengers” movies.

In ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Rogers retired and handed his shield to Mackie’s (Sam Wilson).
