William Bryan Jr and the father-son duo of Gregory and Travis McMichael were found guilty in a jury-approved verdict on Wednesday in the trial of Ahmaud Arbery’s killing.

Judge Timothy Walmsley ordered on Wednesday that the three men will remain in the custody of the sheriff, according to reports from CNN.

The sentence of the three convicted men will at least be life imprisonment, however, the judge presiding over the trial will decide if it comes with or without parole.

The decision comes nearly two years after Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, was killed while jogging in Brunswick, a port city in the state of Georgia.

Father and son Greg and Travis McMichael grabbed guns and jumped in a pickup truck to pursue Arbery after seeing him in their neighborhood. Their neighbor William ‘Roddie’ Bryan joined the pursuit in his own pickup and recorded cellphone video of Travis McMichael firing the fatal shots.

Though the prosecutors did not argue that racism motivated the killing, federal authorities have charged them with hate crimes, alleging that they chased and killed Arbery because he was Black. That case is scheduled to go to trial in February.

The jury sent a note to Superior Court Judge Timothy Walmsley soon after returning to court Wednesday morning asking to view two versions of the shooting video — the original and one that investigators enhanced to reduce shadows — three times apiece.

Jurors returned to the courtroom to see the videos and listen again the 911 call one of the defendants made from the bed of a pickup truck about 30 seconds before the shooting.
