One person was killed in a shooting late Thursday, December 8, in Brownsburg over a “transaction of sorts gone wrong,” according to police. Police in Brownsburg were asking for the public’s help Friday to identify suspects.

Just after 11 pm, officers of the Brownsburg Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Hornaday Road, north of East County Road 300 North, for a report of a person shot. They located a male with an apparent gunshot wound who had been declared dead on the scene and at least one witness, according to Capt. Jennifer Barrett, investigations division commander for Brownsburg police.

Officers are searching for two suspects – the man who fired the fatal shots and the driver of the getaway vehicle. “The decedent and another witness met the suspects in this area to complete a transaction, and at some point, shots were fired,” Barret said, according to a report in News 8.

Police described the suspect as a tall man around 18 to 20 years old with long lighter-colored dreadlocks, who was wearing a red and black hoodie sweatshirt.

The shooter was last seen leaving in a dark blue 2008 Honda Civic four-door sedan with Indiana license plate AEU479, traveling southbound on Hornaday Road, the police department said.

According to police, it was possible that a second person was driving that car, but had not confirmed that as of early Friday.

Brownsburg police are asking any who sees the car to call 911 and not approach the vehicle. They are asking anyone with information on the incident to contact the Hendricks County Communications Center at 317-852-1100.
