Cardi B, the American rapper, claims to stand for women’s empowerment. Her song, WAP, attempted to celebrate female sexuality. This time too, at Valentine’s day, in her unique way, she has made yet another such attempt. Valentine’s Day has been a time of many unrealistic expectations. Romantic partners expect gifts, time, and outings from each other. Addressing that, two days before the main day, Cardi B tweeted saying that men should get gifts but the gifts should be less expensive than the ones women get.

Yes ! Men do deserve to get gift as well for Valentine’s Day,but the gift have to be less expensive then the girls gift . Soo if he buys you flowers you buy him grass.

However, this did not sit well with netizens who thought they were misleading other younger girls while she has been buying expensive gifts for her boyfriend. Besides the immensely materialistic approach to Valentine’s day, it was also confusing for men who were trying to figure out the maths behind it. Netizens also made some hilarious comments on Cardi B’s proposal.

Responding to the roasts, Cardi B made another tweet in reaction to people who were asking her why she was asking women to buy grass for their men while buying Lamborghini for her partner. To this, she said that they didn’t notice the $550,000 and $400,000 rings on both her hands.

Besides carrying a heteronormative approach to Valentine’s Day, she is also further propagating the idea that men spend more in relationships, which is far from the truth.
