A dual-engine Cessna 414 aircraft crashed in Modesta, California, on Wednesday leading to the death of the pilot on board. 

The aircraft crashed in a field near the airport, according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office. 

The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will be investigating the incident, according to CBS Sacramento.  The exact cause of the death is still unclear. 

The Sheriff’s office tweeted saying that the ‘occupant’ on the 414 aircraft was found dead ‘at the scene’  and the person was the “only person” who “was on the place at the time of the crash.

Reports are claiming that the nearby Mitchell Road is restricted to northbound traffic north of Hatch Road due to the incident.
