A shooting incident has been reported at a Cleveland Giant Eagle supermarket on Sunday morning. As per media reports, two people have been declared dead in the shooting.

The incident reportedly occurred before 10 am.

Police officials have confirmed that Bernard Smith, 60, of Cleveland, and Susan Peterson, 63, an employee from Olmsted Township, were found tragically shot to death at the Giant Eagle Supermarket.

North Olmsted Police Chief Bob Wagner in a statement said that authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident at the Giant Eagle supermarket and considering it as a murder-suicide. He further stated that both Susan Peterson and Bernard Smith had previously been married and were separated at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, another shooting incident has been reported at a large street party in Michigan on Saturday at midnight. As per police records, two people have been killed and around 15 people are injured in the shooting.

The incident, which occurred near Saginaw, about 164 kilometers northwest of Detroit, at around midnight on Saturday, according to state police. A 19-year-old guy and a 51-year-old lady were named as the victims. In a statement, the police stated that fifteen people had been hurt—either by gunfire or being struck by a car.

Police in a statement said, “A fight broke out between partygoers resulting in gunshots being fired. In response, others in the crowd began shooting into the crowd, striking several victims. As people fled the scene, many were injured after being struck by fleeing vehicles”, reported CNN.

As per reports, police officials were already present near the street, making preparations to disperse the crowd when multiple individuals called 911 to report gunfire directed towards the gathering. Initially, the police said that around 200 people were present in the area of the party.

Police officials are currently investigating the shooting and no arrests have been made so far in the case.
