A White House official said in a statement to CNN, “In Glasgow, the United States will showcase President Biden’s whole-of-government approach to tackling the climate crisis.”

The official added, “They will demonstrate the strength of the entire US government working in lock-step to reduce emissions and achieve our international climate commitments — and that the countries who take decisive action on climate will reap the economic and jobs benefits of the clean energy future.

Around 200 countries are expected to participate in the meet to discuss their plans to reduce carbon emissions. Such collective discussions on an international forum will give the world leaders creative ideas to work on their carbon footprints.

Biden, if in attendance at the COP26 summit, is also expected to meet 18-year-old climate activist Greta Thunberg to discuss climate-related issues.
