More details are coming out after Ted Kaczynski, famously known as the ‘Unabomber’ was found dead on June 10 in his prison cell. He had died by suicide, a 911 phone call revealed.

Did Ted Kaczynski kill himself?

According to a 911 audio recording, obtained by TMZ, a prison staff member at FMC Butner in North Carolina called emergency services Saturday morning requesting assistance. He stated in the audio that he “got a guy that was hanging … they got a crash cart up there now.”

A crash cart is what a wheeled container is called, that typically carries medicine and equipment for use in emergency situations.

It was further revealed by TMZ that before his death Kaczynski suffered serious neck injuries. This included his face turning red and a deformed trachea. Rigor mortis had also reportedly set in, which has especially affected his arms and legs.

One source told the publication that in the days leading up to his death, the Unabomber appeared ghost-like and frail. This appearance was in stark contrast to the intimidating stature he was when he was arrested by the FBI in Montana on April 3, 1996.

However, no official cause of death has been revealed as Kaczynski’s body has been sent for autopsy. Law enforcement sources have confirmed unofficially to TMZ that Kaczynski’s death is an apparent suicide.

At the time of his death, he was serving life in prison after getting convicted of killing 3 people and injuring many others during a 20-year terror campaign, which involved mail bombs.
