With Liz Cheney’s loss to Harriet Hageman in the Republican primary elections for the Wyoming governor’s seat, Twitter is awash with memes.

Predictably, some Republicans have taken to the microblogging site to make fun of Cheney for her loss. At the helm is Donald Trump Jr, paving the way for other Republicans as he mocked her for her loss. So far, he’s made three tweets about Cheney.

In his first one Trump Jr. says, “Bye Bye Liz Cheney. On the bright side at least you won’t have to pretend to be from Wyoming anymore.”

The short video that Trump Jr. posted to the tune of Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye by Steam. It features clips of former president Donald Trump dancing at the various rallies he has attended as he moves his fists up and down.

For many residents of the deeply Republican state, Cheney has been widely considered to be against their interests, having lost touch with the issues of Wyoming. In fact, Hageman used her platform to expressly attack Cheney, saying on her website that the vicechair of the Jan 6 committee has “cast her lot with the Washington, D.C. elites and those who use their power to further their own agenda at our expense.”

In his second tweet, Trump Jr posts a meme of Cheney handing Donald Trump his McDonalds order at a drive through with a sign on the left saying “NOW HIRING RINOS”. RINO is a slang acronym used by Republicans which means “Republican in Name Only” referencing the fact that some members of the GOP act against the party’s beliefs.

On top of being pejorative about Cheney, the bit about being a RINO is inaccurate, given that she has voted 92.2% in support of Trump’s policies in the US House of Representatives.
