Donald Trump was trolled on social media for his Memorial Day 2023 message. Several Twitter users pointed out that the former President used ‘happy’ as a phrase to start his message.

Trump’s message was described as selfish, self-indulgent and attacking. The Republican leader, in all caps, compared his sacrifices to those of fallen American troops. He started his paragraph with ‘happy’. Memorial Day, celebrated on May 29, honors soldiers who have lost their lives.

Trump also wrote about stopping ‘Communists, Marxists and Fascist ‘pigs”.

Read the message:

“HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO ALL, BUT ESPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO GAVE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE FOR THE COUNTRY THEY LOVE, AND TO THOSE IN LINE OF A VERY DIFFERENT, BUT EQUALLY DANGEROUS FIRE, STOPPING THE THREATS OF THE TERRORISTS, MISFITS AND LUNATIC THUGS WHO ARE WORKING FEVERISHLY FROM WITHIN TO OVERTURN AND DESTROY OUR ONCE GREAT COUNTRY, WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN IN GREATER PERIL THAN IT IS RIGHT NOW,” Trump wrote.

“WE MUST STOP THE COMMUNISTS, MARXISTS AND FASCIST “PIGS” AT EVERY TURN AND, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Social media users were quick to troll Trump.

“I ask you all to honestly tell me, is this the man you want as the Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces? How is this even close to acceptable from a US Presidential Candidate, not to mention former President?” a Twitter user asked.

Many also defended the former President, saying that he visited the Arlington Cemetery in 2018.

“This picture is not from Memorial or Veterans day, it was an unscheduled stop. Trump told the secret service he wanted to visit Arlington Cemetery without any questions, they complied. There was no news team or speeches,” a Twitter user said.

“Remember when President Trump visited Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day?” another one reminded others.
