A man from Washington fatally shot three people after becoming “enraged” over a video game, investigators said on Friday. The accused, identified as 37-year-old Clifton Frank Peter, pleaded guilty to three counts of second-degree murder last week.

According to a news release from U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Washington, the incident took place in June 2020. Peter became angry over an unspecified video game following which he attacked his mother and left her home in a truck.

While backing out of the driveway into the street, Peter struck another, following which he got out of his truck and shot the driver of the other vehicle with his shotgun.

He then got back into her truck and continued driving. A while later, he pulled behind a Honda, rear-ended the vehicle and pushed the car to the side of the road. Peter then got out of his truck and fatally shot the driver and the passenger inside the Honda.

After shooting, the accused walked down the street before he was taken into custody and charged in the killings of Omar Venegas-Mora, 31, his wife, 32-year-old Imelda Santillan-Guevara, and Javier Luna-Gonzalez, 63.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on December 1 for sentencing. He faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The incident took place in the town of Parker, which is in the Yakama Indian Reservation in southwest Washington. In the state, a person is guilty of second-degree murder if the killing is found to be done with intent but without premeditation.

“All three homicides occurred within the external boundaries of the Yakama Nation. This case was investigated by the Yakima Resident Office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This case was prosecuted by Rick Burson and Tom Hanlon, Assistant United States Attorneys for the Eastern District of Washington,” U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a statement.
