Late on Sunday night, chaos ensued at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as a reported bomb threat forced the evacuation of Terminal 1. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office Airport District responded promptly around 5:26 p.m. following the threat.

During the investigation, a man was detained for questioning, and as a precautionary measure, the upper level of Terminal 1 was cleared. The Broward Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad is currently on the scene, intensifying efforts to ensure the safety and security of the terminal. Passengers and airport staff are urged to remain vigilant as authorities work to resolve the situation.
