According to The Philadelphia Inquirer and Fox29, Kimbrady Carriker has been named as the culprit in the July 3, 2023, mass shooting in Philadelphia that left six people dead.

According to the Philadelphia police chief, five persons perished in the incident. One of the casualties, according to Fox29, was discovered inside a house; the chief claimed that the most of the shooting took place on the street.

Carriker uploaded gun videos on Facebook and voiced worry that President Joe Biden might restrict access to firearms. He expressed worry about the government taking away peoples’ guns in a number of his posts. Carriker posted videos of kids holding weapons. Additionally, he published a post endorsing President Donald Trump. In addition, Carriker posted a picture of a hand raised in the style of the BLM, or Black Lives Matter, movement. Additionally, it appears that the suspect had a Soundcloud account.

According to the police chief, there were six shooting victims, four of whom died. He also stated that a 2-year-old and a 13-year-old are in stable condition. The ages of the deceased victims ranged from 20 to 59. One victim’s identity was still being sought by police. According to Outlaw, all of the victims were men.

Was Carriker a Trump supporter?

Carriker sometimes wrote about political issues, and he shared memes negative to Joe Biden. “Don’t be fooled. Wawa is closing in Philly because of $15 minimum wage. They will be back with cashless stores and all the sheep will cheer that their brother is unemployed,” he wrote.

Carriker shared a video of Biden and wrote, “This y’all president. We said 2A defends our rights. Now its god save the queen while he attempts to take our arms.” He also shared a video headlined, “Biden turns red coat, in latest gun grabbing speech,” and wrote, “I told you he wanted your rights. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN SAYS BIDEN.”

According to CNN, the Baltimore, Maryland, block party shooting left two people dead and 28 injured. That attack took place the day before the mass shooting in Philadelphia.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there were 647 mass shootings in the US in 2022. The Archive reported that there were 610 mass shootings in 2020 and 690 in 2021. The Gun Violence Archive claims that there were fewer mass shootings in the US before the pandemic. For instance, according to the Archive, 383 shootings occurred in 2016, 348 mass shootings occurred in 2017, and 336 occurred in 2018.

In 2022, there were 516 homicide victims in the City of Philadelphia, according to the crime statistics dashboard maintained by the Philadelphia Police Department.
