A video of special counsel Jack Smith coming out of a Subway restaurant in Washington DC on Tuesday has gone viral. It was the first time he was spotted after former President Donald Trump revealed that he had been sent a target letter by Smith regarding the January 6th investigation.

In the video, Smith could be seen casually walking out of the Subway restaurant carrying what appeared to be a sandwich in a brown paper bag, followed by a swarm of paparazzi. Smith did not look bothered by the attention he was getting as walked away from the restaurant.

Meanwhile, news media outlets could not stop talking about the video. “Jack Smith going to Subway today is a message to Donald Trump. … Jack Smith with no words and a simple $5 sub in his hand saying ‘I’m not going anywhere,'” said CNN’s John King, to which, Dana Bash replied “the imagery was intentional and spoke volume.”

On Tuesday Trump revealed that he had received a target letter from special counsel Jack Smith in the January 6 investigation which might mean a looming indictment.

Trump revealed on Truth Social that the letter informed him that he was being targeted in a grand jury investigation and that he had four days to respond. Smith is currently overseeing the Department of Justice’s investigation into attempts made by Trump and his allies to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

Trump claimed that he faces “arrest and indictment” following the letter. Trump will be given a chance to speak to the Grand jury at the federal courthouse in Washington D.C., later this week.

“Deranged Jack Smith, the prosecutor with Joe Biden’s DOJ, sent a letter (again, it was Sunday night!) stating that I am a TARGET of the January 6th Grand Jury investigation, and giving me a very short 4 days to report to the Grand Jury, which almost always means an Arrest and Indictment,” the 4th POTUS wrote on social media.
