A JetBlue flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on Monday experienced severe turbulence in the skies. Eight people, including an inflight crewmember, were transported to the hospital.

JetBlue flight 1256 from Guayaquil, Ecuador landed safely Monday morning at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after experiencing a scary situation in the rough skies as it neared Florida. Medics were on the ground to meet the people onboard the flight.

Seven customers and one inflight crewmember were transported to the hospital for evaluation and treatment. 

JetBlue said in a statement that “the aircraft for this flight was been taken out of service for inspection.” “JetBlue will work to support our customers and crewmembers,” the company added.
