United States President Joe Biden on Tuesday set his differences aside with predecessor Donald Trump for a brief moment, finding something they could agree on. In a rare moment, Biden offered praise to the former President’s administration for developing the COVID vaccine and went a step further to appreciate Trump getting a booster shot.

While speaking from the White House on the quick spread of the Omicron variant of COVID, Biden said while urging people to get vaccinated, “I got my booster shot as soon as they were available and just the other day former President Trump announced he had gotten his booster shot”, according to reports from CNN.

He added, “It may be one of the few things he and I agree on. People with booster shots are highly protected. Join them. Join us.”

Later in his speech, Biden recognised the contribution of the former administration in developing a COVID-19 vaccine in order to initiate a rollout. He said, “Let me be clear. Thanks to the prior administration and our scientific community, America was one of the first countries to get the vaccine”, according to reports from CNN.

Earlier this week, Trump said that he had been inoculated with a booster shot of the COVID vaccine while speaking to Bill O’Reilly. The crowd could be seen booing Trump when he made the announcement. “That’s all right. It’s a very tiny group over there”, he said in an attempt to shrug off the boos.

Trump’s announcement of getting a booster dose is a shift from a stance he took in the past. While speaking to Wall Street Journal, the Republican politician said he is “in good shape” and is unlikely to get the dose.
