President Joe Biden slipped up while attempting to praise Nancy Pelosi, the former Speaker of the House, saying that she “helped rescue the economy in the Great Depression” instead of the “great recession.” Biden was heavily trolled because of the gaffe.

The video of Biden’s goof-up went viral on social media. “With Nancy leading the way, you never had to worry about whether the bill would pass. If she said she had the votes, she had the votes every time. And she had the votes for so many life-changing pieces of legislation. She also rescued the economy in the Great Depression,” Biden said.

Many people jokingly pointed out that Pelosi was born on March 26, 1940, and the Great Depression happened between 1929 and 1939, which meant that the lawmaker was not even born when the economic crisis hit America.
