A loud boom was felt in Charleston, North Carolina. Before 9:00 a.m., according to witnesses from the coast to as far inland as Moncks Corner, there was an explosion followed by a brief shaking.

There were no earthquake-related findings when the United States Geological Survey was checked as per counton2.com.

“A loud boom shook the house around 8:40,” one Cooper Estates resident claimed. “My daughter heard it in Creekside and said a friend heard it further north on Hwy 17. We are all trying to figure out what caused the boom!”

“Big explosion on James Island, shook the house,” one resident stated.

“We felt our houses shake all across Daniel Island about 5 minutes ago. “Any chance you know what that was?” inquired another.
