After Connor Sturgeon, a 25-year-old former Old National Bank employee was identified as the shooting suspect who attacked his former place of employment on Monday, killing 4 and injuring 8, Republicans have taken to Twitter to emphasize that the pronouns on his LinkedIn profile were the reason behind his actions.

“Conor Sturgeon is allegedly the active shooter in Louisville, Kentucky. Another Democrat with creepy pronouns in his bio. I wonder if Joe Biden will blame Republicans? Absolutely yes, he will. We should use NASA and send most Democrats to space to save America,” one conservative user said, while another wrote, “Yet another Democrat shooter. Louisville mass shooter has been identified as Connor Sturgeon, who used the pronouns He/Him. Want to stop gun violence? STOP SELLING GUNS TO DEMOCRATS!”

In this case, they are literally just using the fact that LinkedIn shows pronouns next to names. It’s default info that you input right after your name when you sign up.”

Independent journalist Ed Krassenstein wrote, “Imagine being so out of touch with reality that you honestly believe that “pronouns” have more to do with mass shootings than guns. This is what Republicans do best. Instead of pushing real legislation to help America become more accepting and more safe.”
