Jim Ryan, the CEO of Old National Bank headed to Louisville, Kentucky after a shooting at the branch on Monday, according to a statement on the bank’s Facebook page. “While there have been reports of multiple casualties by Louisville Metro Police, we have been assured that the situation is no longer active. Law enforcement authorities continue to assess the scene,” the statement said.

“The safety of Old National Bank employees and everyone we serve in our banking center locations is paramount,” said Ryan in the statement on Facebook. “As we await more details, we are deploying employee assistance support and keeping everyone affected by this tragedy in our thoughts and prayers.”

Four people were killed in the shooting and eight others were injured in the shooting. After an exchange of gunfire with the responding officers, the suspect also died. The suspect was identified as Connor Sturgeon, a former employee of the bank.

Who is Jim Ryan?

According to Jim Ryan’s LinkedIn bio, he is a husband, father, banker, and community advocate. He has been the CEO of Old National Bank for more than a year now. Previously, he was the CFO and the Senior Executive Vice President of the company.

His job was to act as a strategic partner to the CEO and other executive management. According to his bio, his job description was to “proactively lead all GAAP and regulatory accounting, financial planning and analysis, management reporting, expense management, treasury, merger and acquisitions, investor relations and rating agency relationships processes for the company. Key constituents include executive management, equity and debt investors, board members, strategic partners, rating agencies and regulatory agencies.”

Before his current job, he used to work at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. He has a BBA degree in finance from Grand Valley State University.
