Malia Obama, daughter of Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, has recently bagged a writing gig at Donald Glover’s series Hive, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The 22-year-old had been interning in the industry since she was only 17. Her first internship was on the sets of the series, Girls. Thus, she has some experience with working in the industry.

Malia, who did her undergrad at Harvard University, is almost about to graduate if she hasn’t already.

Hive, created by Janine Nabers, is a show about a powerful female character, and Malia, coming from a lineage of strong and powerful people, fits very well in the writing room. Donald Glover is the executive producer of the show and it was he with whose help Malia got into the writer’s room. For the aspiring writer, this can be a very big move in her career.

Speaking about his daughters, Barack Obama had once said that his older daughter Malia enjoys people and conversation – she never gets bored and that quality will take her to places.

Donald Glover, one of the main people behind the show, has bagged a million-dollar deal with the streaming platform Amazon, similar to Phoebe Waller-Bridge who bagged a similar deal after winning many Emmys for the second season of Fleabag. They have also teamed up together to make a series version of Mr and Mrs Smith.
