Prosecutors of the Manhattan District Attorney’s office are set to meet attorneys of the Trump Organization on Monday, according to media reports emerging from the US.

However, questions have emerged about what the meeting will be about.

According to CNN and the Washington Post, this could be the final meeting between the two parties before DA Cyrus Vance files charges against the company.

The meeting comes after a virtual meeting between Trump Organization’s attorneys and the prosecutors on Thursday, according to the New York Times.

Following Thursday’s meeting, Trump Org attorney Ronald P. Fischetti said that prosecutors would likely go forward.

Prosecutors are reportedly considering charging the Trump Organization as a legal entity, as well as its Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg.

The Trump Organization, led by former US President Donald Trump, will potentially be charged with tax and insurance fraud, relating to whether the company would deflate the value of its assets for tax purposes and inflate them for lenders and insurers.

Although it remains unclear what exact charges may be filed. In addition to questions of tax and insurance fraud, prosecutors have also reportedly been reviewing untaxed fringe benefits that Allen Weisselberg, the company’s chief financial official, and others received from the Trump Org.

Talking about the meeting, a defense lawyer from New York City and former prosecutor, Michael Shapiro, said that such meetings typically don’t involve a lot of talking from the prosecutors.

“It’s usually very one-sided, with the defense lawyers putting forth what they believe are their best arguments, and the prosecutors listening,” he told Talking Points Memo.

Additionally, Bennett Gershman, a professor at Pace Law and a former prosecutor in the office, told TPM, at the stage of a final meeting with prosecutors, it is unlikely that they will discuss whether charges will be filed. The meeting will more about what counts may be included and whether “individuals are going to be indicted along with the corporation.”
