Michael LaRosa served as Dr Jill Biden’s spokesperson during the presidential campaign in 2019. He was appointed as press secretary in January 2021.

“For nearly three years, from the campaign to the White House, Michael has brought an encyclopedic knowledge of politics and media to my team as my spokesperson and adviser. LaRosa will be joining Hamilton Place Strategies — a public affairs firm as a managing director, a person familiar with his next steps told CNN. There is no official comment made by the former press secretary yet.

Michael LaRosa’s departure comes weeks after President Joe Biden’s communications director Kate Bedingfield press secretary Jen Psaki resigned.

Talking about Bedingfield, White House chief of staff Ron Klain said, “She has played a huge role in everything the president has achieved — from his second term as vice president, through the campaign, and since coming to the White House. Her strategic acumen, intense devotion to the president’s agenda, and fierce work on his behalf are unmatched.”

“Jen Psaki has set the standard for returning decency, respect and decorum to the White House Briefing Room. I want to say thank you to Jen for raising the bar, communicating directly and truthfully to the American people, and keeping her sense of humor while doing so. I thank Jen her service to the country, and wish her the very best as she moves forward,” Biden said about Psaki.
