Michael Stanley, the king of Rock N’ Roll for the people in Cleveland, Ohio died on Friday at 72. He was suffering from lung cancer for the last 7 months and according to his family, fought the disease with the same dignity that he possessed all his life.

It was surely a sad night and a big loss for the people of Cleveland who loved his music. In the 1970s, he started focusing on his career as a songwriter and formed his band. Although a baseball lover in the vee years, his love for music overpowered and drove him. A self-taught musician, he took inspiration from Elvis Presley and The Beatles. He would make music in between his job and that was when he recorded ‘Rosewood Bitters’, a very popular and special song for his fans.

However, it was only after losing his job that he fully dedicated himself to making music and formed the Michael Stanley Band. They started getting international recognition and were even asked to open for other famous bands at that time.

However, the band broke up in the 1980s and it was then that Stanley started his career in radio and television. He spent 30 years as a broadcaster for a radio channel. He is a recipient of 11 regional Emmys and is widely respected for his work.

However, his life was not without struggle. He kept dealing with physical ailments, where he even had an almost fatal heart attack once. He lost his mother soon after and then his third wife died from cancer. Stanley himself was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which he fought bravely. In 2020, he got lung cancer – the disease which eventually consumed him.
