Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold on Saturday filed a lawsuit against US Postal Service for sending out pre-election mailers, which according to her will confuse the voters. The pre-election mailers, generally include information about mail-in voting.
The USPS had asked the voters to request a vote-by-mail ballot at least 15 days before Election Day and to return it at least seven days before.

However, Griswold said that it doesn’t align with Colorado’s election policies. Colorado conducts election primarily by mail and is one of the five states in the US which sends ballots to all registered voters without having to request them.
“The mailer incorrectly asks that voters request a mail ballot 15 days before the election and return their ballots by mail at least seven days before the election,” Griswold said in a statement. Stating that this will confuse the voters, she said, “This attempt at voter suppression violates the United States Constitution and federal statutes and must be stopped immediately.”

The lawsuit has asked for a temporary restraining order to stop the distribution of mailers.
Democrats had attacked President Trump and USPS for its attempts to mislead the voters. Earlier, the President had urged his supporters to vote twice- by mail and in-person so they can test the integrity of the system.
