Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell suffered a fall at a hotel and was rushed to the hospital in Washington on Wednesday. Soon after social media users noticed that there was a distinct difference in the way McConnell was being treated and the way Republicans reacted to the husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Paul Pelosi when he was hospitalized following an attack on him in his own house.

“This evening, Leader McConnell tripped at a local hotel during a private dinner,” spokesman David Popp told USA TODAY. “He has been admitted to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.” McConnell, 81, fell at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Washington, D.C.
