Phoenix Suns on Sunday defeated Denver Nuggets with a score of 125-118 in the 

semifinals of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Suns also sealed their berth in the finals of the Western Conference. Nuggets player Nikola Jokic’s season ended on a sour note as he was ejected during the game after striking guard on Suns player Cameron Payne.

Suns player Chris Paul starred with a top score of 37 points, and also making seven assists. He was on the court for 40 minutes. His performance was complemented by Devin Booker as he scored 34 points and made four assists in 42 minutes.

Will Barton top-scored for the Nuggets with 25 points. He also made two assists. Nikola Jokic scored 22 points and made four assists, having played 28 minutes before he was ejected.

With four minutes remaining in the third quarter, Jokic was evaluated for a flagrant foul, penalty two, which meant that he had to face an automatic ejection. Jokic took a hard swipe at the ball but also made contact with Payne’s face. Payne immediately fell on the floor holding his face. Jokic headed to the locker room after officials deemed it to be a flagrant foul.

Nuggets had a total of 37 rebounds, three blocks, six steals, eight turnovers and 24 personal fouls. Suns had 48 rebounds, six blocks, six steals, 14 turnovers and 21 personal fouls.
