Shortly after Oregon legalised the therapeutic use of hallucinogenic drug psilocybin or magic mushroom, voters in New Jersey and Arizona approved the recreational use of marijuana on Tuesday, Reuters reported.
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) as quoted by Reuters, the legal use of these drugs was among the 124 statutory and constitutional questions put before voters during this year’s elections in 32 states of the country, and the District of Columbia.

Marijuana also featured in Montana, Mississippi and South Dakota’s ballot. It will be legal for medical use in about 36 states, and for recreational use in 15 of them, given all the measures regarding cannabis pass.
The possession of small amounts of heroin and cocaine and access to “magic mushrooms” for therapeutic use for people over the age of 21 has been decriminalised in Oregon. The state also became the first one in the US to decriminalise hard drugs.
