A video of newly elected member of West Virginia House as part of pro-Trump forcing into the US Capitol on Wednesday went viral on the internet, reported local media. Derrick Evans, a Republican from Wayne County, who won his first term in the November election, was sworn last month.

Evans, who was on Capitol grounds and outside the building, was streaming live on his Facebook page throughout the day. In the video, the lawmaker can been seen entering the Capitol. The video was later deleted.

Angry Trump supporters on Wednesday stormed into US Capitol building while a joint session of the Congress was underway to certify President-elect Joe Biden’s November 3 victory.

Later in the day, Evans posted a photo on his Facebook account stating he was travelling back to West Virginia. He said he travelled to DC as attend a film event and did not participate in “any destruction that may have occurred.”

Hours before the violence broke out, President Trump addressed a rally and local media is blaming the President of instigating the protesters.

World leaders have condemned the violence.
