US President Joe Biden laughed when asked if he thinks former President Donald Trump would be contesting the presidential election in 2024 speculating if the GOP would even exist by then.

When a reporter asked Biden if he thinks he would be running against Trump in three and a half years, he scoffed and said, “Oh, come on. I don’t even think about — I have no idea. I have no idea if there will be a Republican Party. Do you?”

In his first press conference on March 25, the 46th US president was seen taking a couple of jibes at Donald Trump and the Republican party.

Previously, when a reporter asked him about his re-election campaigning plans drawing parallels with Trump who had already launched a campaign by this time during his presidency, Biden laughed and said, “My predecessor needed to.”

He further said, “My God, I miss him,” while talking about Trump.

While Biden has not confirmed if he will be running for re-election in 2024 but hinted that his VP Kamala Harris would run alongside him if he did run for elections saying that he has “a great respecter of fate”.
