A man died in an officer-involved shooting in an Olive Garden parking lot in Orlando. Local police chief Orlando Rolon said the man died near the Mall at Millenia.

As per Rolon, the man was behaving in an erratic manner. An officer escorted the individual in his 20s from the Neiman Marcus store at the mall. According to the police, the man drew a gun and shots were fired outside the store before the man ran away from the officer, ABC affiliate WFTV9 reported.

There was a foot pursuit, after which the man went into an Olive Garden restaurant, located across the street, from the mall, the cops reported.

Rolon noted that another cop had caught up with the man at this time, and another shooting happened in the Olive Garden parking lot. A WFTV reporter spoke with two Olive Garden employees who heard the gunshots from the firefight which left the man dead.

Officers noted that it is not clear whether the man was shot by the police, or if he shot himself. “We will conduct a thorough review of this incident”, Rolon said, adding, “My condolences go out to the family of the individual deceased and to the officers and their families who are now dealing with a traumatic experience.”
