The Denver Police Department is currently conducting an investigation into a tragic incident that transpired on Sunday morning, resulting in the fatality of one individual and injuries to six others. Authorities were alerted to the incident when they received a distress call at approximately 3:06 a.m., reporting a shooting that occurred at a strip mall situated in the 5500 block of E. 33rd Avenue, near the intersection of Hudson Street. This location lies to the east of downtown Denver, nestled in the Park Hill neighborhood.
According to Denver Police Commander Matt Clark, the shooting incident unfolded within the premises of what appears to be an after-hours club known as the “Hells Lover’s Motorcycle Club.” The entrance to the establishment was marked with a sign indicating its private nature. Outside the club, investigators discovered signs of firearm discharge, hinting at a chaotic situation. The exact sequence of events within the club that led to the shooting is presently under scrutiny.
Evidently, the scene bore traces of multiple firearms having been discharged, suggesting a substantial level of violence during the incident. Concerning the six wounded individuals, all of whom were adults, their specific injuries and conditions have yet to be fully ascertained. Commander Clark disclosed that several of the injured parties required immediate surgical intervention. Moreover, law enforcement officers are also looking into the possibility that some of the victims may have discharged firearms during the incident.
