President-elect Joe Biden on Saturday tweeted that the United States of America needs to write a newer, better and a more compassionate chapter in the life of the nation and hence unify the nation.

Since his election, Biden has repeatedly emphasised that despite running as a proud Democrat he would operate as a President of the United States of America. He has also said that he would not differentiate between red states and blue states but would be a President for the United States.

The 78-year former Pennsylvania senator tweeted “This is our moment — ours together — to write a newer, bolder, more compassionate chapter in the life of our nation.”

Doubling down on the issue of rapidly rising COVID-19 cases the Democrat asked Americans to exercise caution, adding that every decision was important.

He also stated, “Each of us has a responsibility in our own lives to do what we can to slow the virus. Every decision we make matters. Every decision we make can save a life.”

The former Senator added, “This is the moment where we need to steel our spines, redouble our efforts, and recommit ourselves to the fight against COVID-19. Let’s remember: We are all in this together.”

Earlier, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris said that President-Elect Joe Biden will be a president who represents the best of America.

Heaping praises on the 78-year-old former vice president, former running-mate Harris stated that the former Democratic Presidential candidate will be a president for all Americans.

The 56-year old former Senator said in a tweet, “Know that Biden will be a president who represents the best in us. A leader the world will respect and our children can look up to.”

Harris, 56, became the first African-American woman also of South Asian descent to be elected as the country’s Vice President.

Praising Biden, the Democratic party member further added, “A commander in chief who will respect our troops and keep our country safe—and a president for all Americans.”
