On his way to the
United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a photo from his flight
where he could be seen going through paperwork. “A long flight also means
opportunities to go through papers and some file work,” the prime minister
captioned the picture. The Indian prime minister’s picture has gone viral on
social media and has garnered over 130,000 likes on Twitter.

Prime Minister
Narendra Modi is on a three-day US visit where he will meet President Joe
Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison
and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga.  PM Modi will attend the first in-person Quad
Summit on Friday and address the United Nations General Assembly on Saturday.

Several BJP
leaders have shared the Prime Minister’s tweet praising him for his work-ethic.
Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, “Always in the service of the country
without stopping, tirelessly.”

Kapil Mishra, BJP
leader from Delhi, shared a picture of the prime minister along with another of
former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri with the caption “Sons of mother
India” in Hindi.

While BJP leaders
praised the Prime Minister, there were others, mainly from the opposition camp
who termed it “show off”. Vinay Kumar Dokania, a senior member of Congress’ social
media cell said: “Showing off the Rs 8,000 crore jet? And why not…We tax payers
have paid the bill, we deserved to be mocked.”

Tens of Indian-Americans
had gathered in Washington DC to welcome the Indian Prime Minister. While some
chanted his name others waived the Indian flag. After his welcome, Prime
Minister Modi tweeted, “Grateful to the Indian community in Washington DC for
the warm welcome. Our diaspora is our strength. It is commendable how the
Indian diaspora has distinguished itself across the world.”

Prime Minister
Modi was received at the airport by senior officials of the Biden
administration along with India’s Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
