A
father-son duo was charged with murder in the shooting death of rapper PnB Rock,
TMZ reported. Freddie Lee Trone and his 17-year-old son have both been charged
with one count of murder and conspiracy to commit robbery as well as two counts
of second-degree robbery. Shauntel Trone, Freddie’s son’s stepmonther, has also
been charged in connection to the murder with one count of accessory after the
fact.

Rapper PnB
Rock was killed inside a Los Angeles Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant on
September 12. The rapper was sitting and eating with his girlfriend and mother
of his two children Stephanie Sibounheuang.

Police say
Freddie Lee Trone and his son were already at the parking lot of the restaurant
when PnB Rock arrived. It was the 17-year-old who shot the rapper while his
father served as a getaway driver, TMZ reported, adding that sources told the
news website that the duo burned their car after the murder. PnB was 30 years
old.

PnB Rock’s
real name was Rakim Hasheem Allen. Born on December 9, 1991, he was best known
for his single Selfish that released in 2016 and went on to peak at number 51
on the US Billboard Hot 100. PnB Rock’s feature on the song Cross Me by Ed
Sheeran, alongside Chance the Rapper also gave him a great deal of success.

PnB Rock
released two studio albums – Catch These Vibes and TrapStar Turnt PopStar (2019).
The latter peaked within the top five on the Billboard 200 chart.  

Following
his death, there was controversy after rumours floated on the internet about
his girlfriend’s role in the events leading up to the rapper’s death. The
rumours soon cleared the air and many people sought an apology for those who
had sought to slander PnB’s girlfriend. This included Cardi B who tweeted: “… Y’all
owe that girl a apology for the shit y’all put her through knowing that she saw
her baby dad die in her face…(sic).”
