American pop-star and music sensation Rihanna recently stated that she was experimenting with music and added that she ad recently questioned herself, “What do I feel personally? What do I want to put out, and as an artist, how do I want to play it with my art? How do I want to interpret that?”

“How do I want to reimagine it because it’s been so structured before,” Rihanna added in a recent interview.

The 32-year old informed fans that for her new album she had conducted “tons of writing camps”- where songwriters are put together in groups to write original tracks for artists.

Rihanna, who has 9 Grammy Awards to her name, further told news agency Associated Press,  “You do pop, you did this genre, you do that, you do radio, but now it’s just like, what makes me happy? I just want to have fun with music. Everything is so heavy. The world that we live in is a lot. It’s overwhelming every single day. And with the music, I’m using that as my outlet.”

Rihanna had released her previous album, ‘ANTI’ in 2016, which soared to the top of the US Billboard 100 and became Rihanna’s second number one and eighth top 10 album in the chart.

The album also accompanied the release of four singles, of which ‘Work’ topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Rihanna has achieved 14 number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 since her debut in 2005.

Since 2016, Rihanna has featured in songs by DJ Khaled, Kendrick Lamar and N.E.R.D. Her only release for 2020 is ‘Believe It’ along with PartyNextDoor.

The thirteen-time American Music Awards winner, who is currently devoting time to her successful make-up and fashion brands, stated that the pandemic has challenged things musically speaking.

Rihanna added, “I want to go on tour but I can’t, so I’m stuck with music that I love, and now I’m trying to figure out how I can even create visuals to that, that’s a challenge as well. But I love challenges so, you know, I’m gonna get it done.”
