Hit show “Sex and the City” is all set to be revived with its original star cast except actor Kim Cattrall, on HBO Max, the network announced on Sunday, reports news agency AFP.

The new series,  “And Just Like That…”, will have 10 episodes featuring Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, stated HBO.

In the series, the protagonist and narrator, Carry Bradshaw, is played by Parker and Nixon and Davis play her best friends. While Nixon is lawyer Miranda Hobbes, Kristin Davis plays art dealer Charlotte York.

Cattrall, who played sexually liberated publicist Samantha Jones, was not mentioned in the statement. Nothing about her return was specified by HBO.

The new story will follow the three women as they navigate love and friendship in their 50s. The streaming channel did not specify a date for the premiere date but said that production is likely to start in New York City around May or June.

A teaser trailer was posted by Parker on Instagram on Sunday. She will also be producing the show alongside Nixon, Davis and Michael Patrick King.

The short video, posted by Jessica Parker is a montage of classic New York City shots, intercut with images of Parker’s character Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic computer screen which has the phrases “And just like that…” and “The story continues…” are typed out all over. The protagonist’s signature voiceover accompanies the clips.

Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max said, “I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them.”

The original “Sex and the City,” which ran for 6 seasons starting in 1998 was described by HBO as “groundbreaking” in its statement. The show was created by Darren Star based on Candace Bushnell’s eponymous 1997 book.

The original show was also made into two movies that were released in 2008 and 2010. A prequel series, “The Carrie Diaries,” premiered on the CW in 2013 and ran for two seasons.

It is not sure if Star will return for the new series. While promoting his latest project, the Netflix series “Emily in Paris,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in October, last year that he had no interest in returning to “Sex and the City.”
