Three people were reportedly killed and one was injured in a shooting that took place in South Carolina’s Greenwood County on Monday morning. 

Police said the shooting happened on Heddy Road around 3:00 PM local time and they are currently searching for a person of interest, who has been identified as 36-year-old Jeffrey David Powell. 

Powell is reportedly 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 260 pounds.  He has tattoo on his neck.

The motive behind the shooting was currently not known. 

The status of the victims is unknown at this time as well the motive for the shooting,” a release from the sheriff’s office said.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is also responding to the scene to assist in the investigation.

On Monday, a popular American TikToker Anthony Barajas died in a shooting outside a California movie theatre. Local prosecutors said that the shooting was a ‘random and unprovoked’ attack.

The 19-year-old was shot at a theatre that was screening ‘The Forever Purge’, a movie about a totalitarian government that one night a year allows any crime to be committed, including murder. Barajas’ friend Rylee Goodrich, 18, was also killed in the attack, AFP quoted Corona police as saying.

Only last week, a shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, injured five people, including two who were in critical condition, police said. The incident took place on Wednesday. 

“That means more grieving mothers. If you’ve been out on any of these crime scenes, you’ve heard the sound of a wailing mother’s voice. I promise you if you’ve heard it, you’ll never get it out of your mind,” an officer had said, as per local media report.
