There have been reports of a shooting at Carowinds in Charlotte, North Carolina. A video was circulated online showing people fleeing the amusement park.

On Twitter, one user tagged Medic911Press, which provides pre-hospital emergency care in Mecklenburg County, and inquired, “Hello! Are you responding to a shooting at Carowinds? Any injures or transports?”

Another person appears to have spelled the 407-acre amusement park incorrectly and stated “Damn! These kids can’t even go to Scarowinds without ppl shooting “.

Belmont Park shooting 

A streetfight between several people led to a shooting near Belmont Park in Mission Beach, San Diego. There were no victims but visitors at the amusement park on Mission Boulevard panicked and ran for cover. Reportedly, the shots rang out about an hour and a half before rides were supposed to close. 

Safari Land Indoor Amusement Park shooting

A Chicago man was arrested after a shooting in the suburban Villa Park, where a man at the Safari Land Amusement Park was injured. The individual was shot thrice in the vicinity of children visiting the park.

Knott’s Berry Farm shooting

In July 2021, authorities investigated a drive-by shooting outside Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park. By the time the cops arrived at the theme park, they reported at least one person was wounded while three others were hospitalized with unknown injuries. 

The gunfire sent people in the park running for the exits, with some even jumping over the fences. 

Wheel’s Family Fun Park shooting

Durham cops investigated a shooting at the Wheel’s Family Fun Park on Hoover Road. Cops said that fights had broken out among the crowd and officers were called to the scene. They heard reports that a shot was fired inside but nobody had been hurt.

Tatianna Willieshia Osborne, 16, of Durham was charged for the incident that had sparked fears among visitors, especially parents whose kids were at the family amusement park. 

Universal Orlando shooting

Orange County had a shooting scare at the Universal Orlando theme park. People in the garage told local news channels that they were afraid and evacuated when they thought they heard gunshots. 

Authorities, however, clarified that it was just teens fighting and there were no guns or shots fired.
