Slipknot has paid a tribute to their former drummer Joey Jordison, following his devastating death on July 26. The band issued a statement and released a video to their fallen icon. Slipknot said, “Our hearts go out to Joey’s family and loved ones at this time of tremendous loss.”
Earlier this week, Joey’s family a statement sharing that the musician had died in his sleep at the age of 46. He was one of the band’s founding members, though the band parted ways with Joey in 2013, the band in a statement wrote, “Without him there would be no us.”

Their words were accompanied by an eight-and-a-half minute video, compilation video featuring Joey and his behind-the-scenes moments, iconic live footage, and lots of the drummer.
Initially, the band paid tribute to Joey by blacking out their social media, where slipknot’s band accounts of the individual members were flipped to a black circle as the icon alongside an all-black square that was shared with no caption.
Slipknot’s tribute was done in one sweeping move across social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Joey was a member of the Slipknot band from its inception in 1995 until 2013. He was known as number one in the band, the drummer. He appeared on all of the slipknot’s studio albums except for the two most recent one, 5: The Gray Chapter and We Are Not Your Kind.

Joey was diagnosed with a neurological condition called Transverse myelitis at the end of his time in Slipknot. The condition inhabited his ability to walk and olay the drums. However, after beating the disease, Joey announced his comeback in 2018 during an interview with Metal Wani.
Besides, he founded Scar the Martyr, formed a group called Vimic, played the Murderdolls, Sinsaenum, and Rob Zombie. He also joined Ministry temporarily in 2018.
