Smugglers were caught on camera dropping two Ecuadoran girls, three and five years old, from the top of a 14-foot wall that marks the US-Mexican border, reported AFP.

The video of the incident, released by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) chief patrol agent Gloria Chavez, is doing rounds on social media. “Smugglers, under cover of night, scaled a 14 ft. border barrier and cruelly dropped 2 young children in the middle of the New Mexico desert. The girls, ages 3 & 5, were left miles from the nearest residence. Thank you STN Agents for rescuing these children!” caption of the clip reads that is posted with a trigger warning.

In the clip, it was seen that two people brought the children to the border barrier on Mexico’s side at midnight. One person scaled the fence and dropped the two girls onto the US side. After both children landed on the ground, the person atop the fence went back to the Mexico side and both the people ran away.

The girls were then picked up by the CBP officers, reported AFP quoting the agency on Thursday.
