The unprecedented is happening in Washington DC, courtesy US President Donald Trump, who, it seems, will do anything to hold on to the presidency.

Trump loyalists stormed the Capitol on Wednesday, forcing the Congress to halt the counting of the electoral votes to confirm President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. Cops had to evacuate the lawmakers and place the Capitol under the state of lockdown, as the pro-Trump protesters mobbed the hallways of the building just steps from where the meeting was being held.

We will never give up,” Trump declared at the “Save America” rally, to justify his failing bid to overturn the democratic election with claims of fraud rejected by election officials, judges and even his own attorney general. “We will never concede. It doesn’t happen. You don’t concede when there’s theft involved. Our country has had enough. We will not take it anymore, and that’s what this is all about,” Trump said, virtually inciting the mob and then taking a step back.

Please note: Despite all this never-before-seen drama, the White House has not commented on this.

Trump did do a lip service on Twitter: “Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!”

Did the mob act on impulse? Not really. The entire episode seems staged and directed by none other than President Trump himself, at least it seems so.

Mr Trump’s daughter and an office holder, Ms Ivanka Trump tweeted calling the rioters “patriots”. However, she was quick to delete the tweet after backlash on Twitter.

And guess what, these “patriots” dropped American flag off a scaffold and replaced it with the Trump flag. Yes, you heard it right the Trump Flag.

After about two hours of horror at the Capitol, the White House reluctantly ordered the National Guard to respond to the riot.

So the statement has been made. If I can’t get it by democratic means, I shall resort to hooliganism.

Well why am I not surprised? The US had signed up for this by electing Donald Trump in first place.

Hoping against hope for the American Democracy, which seems to be Trump(ing) away.
