Ahead of the of
2015 nuclear deal talks in Vienna, the member nation the United States on Friday confirmed
that it will be participating in the conversation and offered Iran to sit down
for constructive discussion on the deal. The meeting, announced by European Union
on the same day, is to have a sit-in discussion with the member nations on the
nuclear policies, AFP reported.

“We are not expecting an immediate breakthrough as the process will involve difficult discussions, but this meet is a healthy step ahead, said US State Department spokesman Ned Price

Price further added that one of the key issues to be discussed will be Iran’s nuclear steps that need a check and for it to comply with the ‘The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action’ (JCPOA).

“The United States will also have to offer sanctions relief to Tehran in order to return to the deal and offer constructive approach,” added Price.

The in-person meeting to take place between the member nations of the 2015 nuclear deal, formally known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in Vienna on Tuesday is called by the European Union.

The deal was signed by Iran in 2015 with

the US, UK, France, China, Russia and Germany. According to the deal, Iran agreed to limit its sensitive nuclear activities in exchange for global powers lifting economic sanctions on Tehran.

In 2018, US former President Donald Trump, officially opted out of the deal, a move not taken well by Iran which in turn refused to comply with the deal any further.
